Notes to the Instructor

We have often struggled to find affordable reading materials that rise to the wisdom that Level 1 learners so often bring to the classroom, while ensuring the story adheres to linguistic outcomes and creates an emotional experience for the reader. So our team felt to write texts about things that really matter to our readers: information healing, discovery, survival, relationships, justice, and connection to the land. We explored these themes through the lens of our personal experiences.

This reader contains nine original stories written specifically for young adults and is designed to provide enjoyment, cultural knowledge and natural progression to improving English according to Vygotsky’s pedagogy .
